"The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until
its unity is firmly established."
~ Baha'u'llah |
| |
| Welcome to the world of Little Angels with "love and unity" being our motto. LAHS promotes quality education while putting great emphasis on spiritual perfection of every child. To this end, we inculcate in the hearts of our children love and respect for all the religions and their Messengers and inspire them to translate their knowledge into meaningful service to the mankind. |

| Prologue |
|
The Academic Year 2010-11 marks significant progress in the ongoing traverse of Little Angels High School which began in the year 1990 with a modest infrastructure. Little Angels School was established with a pure vision to promote overall and quality education to the “forgotten children”, a term used by Maria Montessori. There are many things which contributed to our rapid progress including:
- Our continuous emphasis on quality in everything.
- Our special adherence to moral education of children based on the spiritual precepts of the Baha’i world faith and inter-linking the golden rules inherent in the teachings of all great religions of God.
- Our close rapport with the parents as we believe that the objective of overall development of children cannot be achieved without active participation of the parents. Apart from regular Parent-Teachers Meeting, the school has held special events such as Mothers Conference to make the parents aware of their important role.
- Our dedicated crew of teachers and supporting staff. Good teachers are as important for a school as columns of a mighty building. We have not only been paying our teachers at par with the pay-scale recommended by the Govt. but have implemented even a better pay-scale far progressive than other prominent schools of the region. In addition, periodic incentives, encouragements and special considerations are given to teachers – individually and collectively – to warm up their zeal and appreciate their contribution.
As a result, Little Angels School has rapidly grown into a renowned school of the “Fortified City” in last two decades. The following notations are supposed to give an extensive outlook into some major accomplishments in the present Academic Year so far, outlines of some milestone progresses achieved and also address the requirements of the CBSE letter cited as above. |

Affiliation with CBSE
The School is affiliated with the CBSE with Affiliation No. 1030098. This was a testimony that we have been following the fundamentals of education and have been able to raise up the necessary infrastructure for providing state-of-the art learning to our students. Till now, several batches of students have gone through CBSE Board Examinations (both Classes X & XII) and we are proud to announce that every time we had a 100% success rate. Most students passed these examinations with First Division and many students secured above 95% marks in several subjects.
Since its affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education, the school has made sincere efforts to abide by the rules and regulations of the CBSE, not only in word but by spirit. We believe that CBSE is not only an institution but a progressive educational philosophy of India and its directions must be sincerely adhered to. With this in view, the School authorities regularly visit the CBSE website to keep themselves abreast with its latest circulars, guidelines, policies and procedures, etc. Immediate and scrupulous attention is paid on CBSE letters received from time to time and the spirit of compliance is reflected by the school management.
Some major initiatives in last few years were
- Banning on physical punishments. The school appointed a full-time dedicated Counsellor at the school to give moral advice to children and help them avert unwanted behavioural patterns.
- The Counselling services were also extended to students in selecting their careers (i.e. Career Counselling) as we believe in the Baha’i teaching that each individual must engage himself or herself in a trade, craft or occupation and contribute to the advancement of human society. Professional experts of a wide array are regularly invited to address students and interactive sessions are arranged on such occasions to enable students to ask their questions and vent their career choices.
- In light of CBSE’s continuous thrust on promoting religious tolerance and communal harmony (as also reiterated in CBSE letter dated March 4, 2011, Circular No. 15), the school has conducted in last years “Communal Harmony Day” marked with recitation of prayers and reading of sacred texts from various religions. The students have been sent on educational trips to famous Mosques, Temples, Baha’i Houses of Worship, Gurudwaras and other sacred places to imbibe the ambience of “unity in diversity”.
- The school has a full-fledged Junior Youth Empowerment Program (JYEP) for students between 11-14 age-groups. This program is meant to give moral guidance to students in their adolescence.
The school will continue to imbibe the educational philosophy of the CBSE in the years to come. |

ISO 9000:2001 – The Stamp of Quality
Little Angels High School continues to meet the criteria required by the International Organization for standardization (ISO). Ours was one of the first schools to have received this international accreditation. The Head Mistress of the School together with the Heads of Department (in consultation with the Principal and Manager) ensure that the quality measures are implemented effectively. Some of the elements of in this respect are as follows:
- Punctuality and regularity of teaching staff
- Systematic lesson plan in each subject
- Maintaining accuracy in checking CW & HW
- Periodic re-assessment of quality standards
- Regular internal audit of teachers performance
The touchstone of the entire ISO mechanism is for us to keep continuous watch on the vision of LAHS that we have adopted in unison: |

Our Infrastructure & Basic Facilities
Since the LAHS vision is to equip the students with the "state-of-the-art knowledge", due attention is paid on providing the students a number of basic facilities. Little Angels School is one of the few schools of Madhya Pradesh with excellent physical facilities.
- Computer Lab and Multimedia Library are enriched with adequate number of PCs giving internet access and one of the richest collections of educational CDs on different subjects.
- LAHS Library has received the BEST LIBRARY AWARD in 2004 by the Indian Library Association. It has a rich collection of encyclopedias, science fiction stories, literary works, religious and General Knowledge books, Science & Technology books on varied subjects. The Library has further been extended with one Reference Room and one Teachers Exclusive Library Section.
- Little Angels High School is privileged to be one of the rare schools in the state to have introduced the Highly Technical and Digital SMART CLASSES. This new pedagogical concept attempts to break the monotony of a clichéd teaching process, through visual learning that promises to make learning visually appealing, interesting and accessible with a 3-D content that is user friendly and allows greater retention and clarity.
- LAHS Sports World is wide and varied with a vast playground, including Kho-kho court, Football and Hockey ground, Basket Ball & Throw Ball court, Cricket pitch, Judo court, etc. The Indoor Game Complex houses separate rooms for Chess, Table Tennis, etc.
- LAHS has some 40 leased buses facilitating transportation of children.
- Art & Craft is an important part of LAHS education and so is Dance & Music. These wings, too, are fully equipped with all sorts of musical instruments, orchestra, theatre, et al. The school has a picturesque open air theatre and a big Seminar Hall.
- As mentioned above, LAHS is the first and probably the only school in Madhya Pradesh to have its own integrated Junior Youth Empowerment Program (JYEP) systematically interwoven in the curriculum.
- There are 3 spacious laboratories (50 x 25 ft. each) for Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
- Little Angels School Garden reflects its deeply inherent aesthetic sense and acute love for nature. Well-trimmed plants, lush-green lawns, dedicated care of the flora and selection of some of the rarest varieties of vegetations have gone a long way in giving the school a picturesque and eye-warming look. LAHS has won prestigious award for the “BEST GARDEN” by Dainik Bhaskar, the prominent newspaper of Gwalior and Madhya Pradesh, for three consecutive years.
- LAHS is also one of the few schools of Gwalior with a smoothly functioning Eco Club. Our Eco Club actively promotes the best interests of the environment.
